FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR
Parenting for Lifelong Health(PLH) is looking for a resourceful, meticulous, and organised individual to serve as its first Finance Assistant.
This position is based in South Africa though remote and/hybrid working is negotiable.
About Parenting for Lifelong Health
Endorsed by the UN, Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) is a globally recognised, cutting-edge charitable social enterprise committed to providing evidence-based, playful parenting support for everyone, everywhere. Our aim is to improve child development and wellbeing and prevent family violence through the scale-up of tailored human-digital, open-source, evidence-based parenting solutions within government, NGO, and private sector systems in the Global South and beyond.
PLH human-digital programmes have been rigorously evaluated in 15 randomised controlled trials and delivered in 37 countries for more than 300,000 families. PLH led an interagency COVID-19 emergency response with the UN, USAID, CDC, and other partners to adapt the programmes to reduce increased risks of violence and stress due to the pandemic. The resources were shared in over 196 countries and territories, were part of 33 government response plans, and reached more than 210.5 million people.
PLH is also a core member of the Global Initiative to Support Parents, an interagency initiative committed to supporting universal access to evidence-based parenting programmes. Our work is grounded in the following 6 core principles: evidence-based research, open source and non-commercial, locally adaptable and culturally relevant, low-cost and scalable, equitable collaborative partnerships, and playful and empathic.
Building on our success over the past 11 years, PLH was legally registered as a charity in the UK in 2022 and is in the process of registering as a nonprofit organisation in South Africa. We are now expanding the founding team to build our organisation, meet the growing demand for our services, strengthen our ecosystem of global partners, respond to humanitarian crises, and identify financing to sustain parenting support at scale in low-resource contexts.
