Need: Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologists with additional training in Pediatric Neurology for the ! Child Neurology faculty opportunity with the Department of Neurology at New Jersey Neuroscience Institute.
We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Child Neurologist for the Pediatric Neurology faculty opportunity at New Jersey Neuroscience Institute (NJNI) at JFK Medical Center. There will be academic teaching and mentoring opportunities for this candidate through the program’s academic affiliations to the Neurology Residency and training programs via Seton Hall University School of Medicine.
The members of the Child Neurology team come from major neurological programs and they, themselves, are professors, comprising the full-time, neuroscience faculty of Seton Hall University’s School of Graduate Medical Education. In all respects, they are at the forefront of neurological treatment and have at their disposal the very latest technological tools. Pediatric Neurology related faculty & staff includes (a board certified Pediatric Neurosurgeon, Neuro-Oncolog! ist, 2 Anesthesiologists, 2 Neuro-Radiologists, Neuro-Patholog! ist, 3 Neuro-Psychologists, a multidisciplinary sleep team, 5 Pediatric Intensivists, 5 in-house Pediatric Hospitalists, and 5 Pediatric Neuroscience Nurses)
For outpatient care, most of the services are provided at the Children’s Neurological Center within the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute. Inpatient care is provided in a fully monitored unit at JFK Medical Center that’s devoted solely to pediatric patients. In addition, the Pediatric Special Care unit is designed for medical and post-surgical care of children. It’s directed by a board-certified, pediatric intensivist and staffed by specially trained, pediatric nurses. A playroom is available on the pediatric floor.The experienced physicians are active in neurological research and clinical trials. Subspecialists in neuroradiology, neuropathology, neuro-oncology, orthopedics, physiatry, infectious disease and other areas are also easily available to help address all aspects of patient care. Many neurological d! isorders require physical, occupational, speech and other forms of therapy. In that regard, the Children’s Neurological Center is greatly enhanced by the relationship with the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Department. The Pediatric Rehabilitation Department is the largest outpatient pediatric rehab facility in New Jersey
