Description:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for providing technical support to the sur! geon, anesthesiologist and registered nurses in the operating ! room. They must be in good health and be able to stand for long periods of time. They must be organized and focused on their surgical field having the flexibility to anticipate & adjust to any given emergency. This person must be able to work cohesively with a variety of people on any given team.
Minimum education:
High School Diploma. Graduate of accredited School of Surgical Technology required;Scrub tech certification preferred.
Desired education:
Associates degree
Minimum work experience:
One year O/R scrub experience as a Surgical Technician is required;one or more years active scrub experience preferred. Must have knowledge of instrumentation/scrubbing.
Desired work experience:
Required licenses/certifications:
Scrub tech certification preferred.
Required skills:
Knowledge of surgical procedures & instrumentation involved; Strong background in principles of a! sepsis & sterile technique.
