Description: University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey is hiring Nurse Anesthetist, per diem (A total of 10 positions available) right now, this position will be ordered in New Jersey. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program! with a Master's Degree in a related field or current certification and graduation from an accredited NAEP prior to January 1998 is required. Applicants must have successfully completed the National Certification Examination to be a CRNA and maintain current certification. In the case of a new graduate, they may be employed under the condition that he/she successfully takes and passes the National Certification Examination on the first available date following his/her graduation. Applicants must have a current New Jersey Registered Nurse License and Advanced Practice Nurse License. BLS AND ACLS required. As of June 16, 2009, new graduates may be employed after obtaining a work permit letter as an Applicant Advanced Practice Nurse from the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Nurse Anesthetist position is to administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: 1) pre-anesthetic preparation and eval! uation; 2) anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence; 3)! post-anesthesia care; and 4) perianesthetic and and clinical support functions.
